Wyoming woman killed in crash near Millsboro

A Wyoming, Delaware woman has died after she lost control of her vehicle and struck a tree near Millsboro.

According to the Delaware State Police Department, the crash occurred around 11 a.m., Monday when a 2004 Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Indian Town Road, east of Hudson Road, rounding a left curve at an apparent high rate of speed on the wrong side of road.

After nearly striking a vehicle head-on, the driver lost control of the vehicle and the car plunged into the woods where the front end struck a pine tree.

The driver was pulled from the vehicle by a Good Samaritan who was passing by, just before the car was engulfed in flames.

The Good Samaritan, a local resident, also performed CPR prior to the arrival of EMS.

The driver of the Accord, a 20-year-old Wyoming, Delaware woman, was transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Indian Town Road was closed for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
