Wounded Delmar Officer In Critical Condition: The Latest
A Delmar Police officer who responded to a reported fight over the weekend was beaten and stomped in the head, according to court records.
Corporal Keith Heacook at last check was in critical condition at Shock Trauma in Baltimore. He was by himself when he answered the call early Sunday morning in Yorkshire Estates.
Members of other agencies responded, and a suspect – who is also charged with attacking a man and a woman in their 70s nearby – is in custody for attempted murder and other charges. Randon Wilkerson turned 30 that same day.
Records show Wilkerson served seven months of a 13-month sentence in Florida for felony drug possession in 2020.
The man and woman who were attacked are being treated at separate hospitals. They were attacked with a glass object, according to court documents. The Wicomico County Humane Society says the two were active volunteers for their organization and have helped to established a GoFundMe page to assist with their medical bills.
