Worcester Deputy Struck During Traffic Stop on Route 90

A Worcester County Sheriff’s Deputy was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night. The Deputy was conducting a traffic stop on Route 90 near Racetrack Road when he was struck in his back by a passing vehicle driven by 62 year old William Mott of Ocean Pines. Officials say the driver didn’t stop – but left Route 90 at Racetrack Road – the vehicle was located at Mott’s home. Officials say Mott was DUI and arrested on charges of driving under the influence, driving while revoked and leaving the scene of a personal injury crash. The Deputy was treated for injuries and released.
