WGMD Fishing Report 9-6-18
Thursday was the last day of good fishing weather for quite a while. We have northeast winds building to gale force by Sunday and next week there is a chance we could have a hurricane.
When I stopped by Lewes Harbour Marina, Tony was finishing up a cleaning job of flounder, dolphin and two ling. The fish came off the Katydid. It is not that often you see ling and dolphin from the same fishing trip. Dolphin are warm-water fish while ling like cold water. As Alice said, “Things get curiouser and curiouser!”
The grizzly with Captain Cary Evans saw Darica Ward catch two flounder over five pounds on one drift. The FOMO did an overnighter catching and releasing sharks with Jeff Ekas capturing a 37-inch dolphin. Nathan Moy and Justin Travis caught six dolphin at the Lightship while fishing on the Miss Kathy with Captain Ross Kargnitz.
From Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em we learned that the Captain Ike has been catching blueline tilefish in the canyons along with dolphin and white marlin.
