WGMD Fishing Report 9-16-18
Sunday saw fair skies, but that relentless east wind just won’t lay down.
I described what a great tournament the Delaware Mobile Surf Fishermen hold every year, but ran out of time to give you more information. If you would like to fish this tournament go to dmsclub.org and download all tournament information.
I spoke with Steve at Smith Bait and Tackle in Leipsic and he said not many people went fishing up there last week. I had the same report from Patty at Captain Bones Bait and Tackle. Both stores said catfish and white perch caught from the banks of the tidal rivers and creeks on bloodworms, cut bait or peeler crab were the only fish they saw all week.
Over in the Chesapeake Bay the reports were not much better. The high tides have freed large debris from the beaches and marshes so navigation is a bit dangerous. Live lining white perch or spot along channel edges or bridge pilings has been the most successful technique for catching rockfish.
