WGMD Fishing Report 8-5-19
Sunday was another beautiful day, but a nasty piece of weather popped up off of Ocean City, Maryland in the late afternoon adding a bit of excitement to the day for folks returning from ocean fishing trips.
Monday sees the beginning of the 46th White Marlin Open. I will not be going this year, but will keep you abreast of the latest standings.
Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said Kyle Falgowski caught a 60-inch swordfish on Chip Graves’ boat Bird Dog. He and Matt Baker also combined for a blackfin tuna, a dolphin, some tilefish and ten big sea bass.
Dan’s Tackle Box told us Wayne DiMarko and a friend caught a two-person limit of flounder over ocean structure while on Dan’s boat Fish Bones. He also told us crabbing has been good in the Broadkill and Murderkill rivers.
Steve at Smith’s Bait in Leipsic said Rena Powell caught a 6.82-pound flounder at Reef Site 6 on a nuclear chicken Gulp!.
