WGMD Fishing Report 8-3-19
Friday was overcast and a bit cooler, but still very humid. Flounder fishing seemed to respond well to these weather conditions as the Thelma Dale IV had one of her better days on flatfish. Several anglers caught their limit and most had fish to take home.
Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina told us the Savanah Lynn had good shark fishing on their morning trip catching and releasing seven big ones to 450 pounds. The Pirate King brought in a mixed bag of croaker, bluefish and kings from the Delaware Bay. Dick Degnats won the pool on the Katydid with a 5.38-pound flounder. Bill Higgs caught a 24-inch flounder and Scott Schoup had a 23 incher also on the Katydid. Casey Bridges caught a 5.1-pound triggerfish on a sand flea at the Outer Wall while fishing on the McSlammer with Captain Dave.
On the Saltfish site we learned that one boat had a four-person limit of flounder over wrecks off of Chincoteague, Virginia. Flounder to 6.28 pounds were caught at the Del-Jersey-Land Reef.
