And the heat goes on.  Thursday saw more hot weather, but a cooling trend is on the way as the wind will shift from southwest to northwest over the weekend.

On Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM a Fisherman鈥檚 Farewell will be held at the northside of Indian River Inlet to honor Gene Crone who died last week as a result of an automobile accident.  Gene was a fixture at the Inlet casting a white bucktail with a white worm and enjoying life.

I stopped by Lewes Harbour Marina this afternoon as the Katydid was refueling after a trip to ocean structure that resulted in a catch of sea bass, ling and dolphin.  I spoke with an angler who fished the bay on Tuesday, but moved further east that I was fishing towards A Buoy in the Anchorage.  He had nonstop action on kings in the deeper, cooler water.

Dave at Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said the spot run continues.  The flounder fishing improved with fish between 17 and 22 inches caught next to the pilings on live minnows and Gulp!.
