WGMD Fishing Report 7-31-19
Tuesday saw more good fishing weather, but Wednesday and Thursday look to be a bit unsettled.
Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina told us on Monday the Katydid brought in a cleaning table full of sea bass and red hake. Kyle Falgowski caught a 58-inch swordfish in 1550 feet of water on a squid. The Chasin’ Tail released a white marlin and had a good catch of golden tilefish on Sunday.
My friend Bob Baker called to report another successful trip to Wachapreague, Virginia. He and a friend fished in 10 feet of 72-degree water on incoming current to catch over 40 flounder with seven keepers.
I had some good news from the National Marine Fishery Service and that in its self is rare. It looks like the flounder regulations for 2020 will be the same as they are in 2019. I know we would like to see a smaller size limit and bigger bag, but then again, they could have upped the size and lowered the bag so let’s be thankful for what we have.
Old Inlet said we still have kings on the beach and blues at the inlet.
