WGMD Fishing Report 7-14-19
Saturday was another nice summer day and we saw some good fishing reports.
The Lewes and Rehoboth Canal is giving up keeper flounder. There were several photos of folks with flounder from the canal on the Lewes Harbour Marina Facebook page. We also had a report from Teresa Spence who, along with two friends, caught eight keepers drifting from Roosevelt Inlet to Irish Eyes using live minnows on fish-finder rigs.
Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said the spot fishing was good on high tide with bloodworms the best bait. Flounder were caught on minnows worked around the pilings with most being too short to keep.
At Old Inlet we learned that Sean Dunlap caught a 12.75-pound bluefish out of Indian River Inlet. I bet that was a surprise. Rockfish, with a few over the 28-inch minimum size, have been caught at night.
Burt at Hook 鈥榚m and Cook 鈥榚m said triggerfish were caught over inshore wrecks. The Judy V had 20 flounder on Saturday.
