WGMD Fishing Report 7-13-19
Friday was pretty nice and the fishing was pretty good.
Hook 鈥榚m and Cook 鈥榚m told us the Captain Ike came in with a 70-pound bluefin, several big blues and some king mackerel from the inshore lumps. If you plan to target bluefins this weekend, check the latest regulations from NOAA. They have recently changed. They also saw some flounder come past the cleaning table. The fish were caught from a private boat so the location of the catch was not available.
Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid came in with a catch of triggerfish, trout and sea bass on Friday. The Grizzly had a limit of king mackerel and a few bonita from the inshore lumps.
At Lighthouse View Tackle on the Fishing Pier at Cape Henlopen State Park the report was pretty much the same, lots of spot on high tide with bloodworms or FishBite bloodworms the top bait. A few more keeper flounder were caught on minnows worked around the pilings.
Old Inlet said kings were caught from the beach on bloodworms. Rockfish are caught at night from the jetty.
