WGMD Fishing Report 6-26-19
Tuesday, June 25th, was my 77th birthday. What should I do to celebrate? Take in an opera? How about a visit to an art museum? Who am I kidding! I went fishing.
I started at the southside of Indian River Inlet where I had heard of some croaker being caught. I was there for a half an hour and never saw anything, let alone a croaker, caught.
Next, I went up on three Rs Road. The wind was out of the west and, as I expected, the flies were there in swarms. Sprayed my legs with lots of Off and that discouraged the flies. Baited up with bloodworms and cut bait and after a slow beginning I caught short trout and kings at a steady pace. Perfect way to spend my birthday!
Stopped by Lewes Harbour Marina where Erik was cleaning the 27 flounder that came in on the Katydid. Two young men were waiting to have the pair of keeper flounder they caught cleaned. Those fish were taken out of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal on minnows from the town dock.
