WGMD Fishing Report 6-11-18
Sunday the rain held off until evening so folks were able to get in some fishing.
Boats from Lewes Harbour Marina and Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em ran offshore and were not back in time for this report. We will have their catch in Monday’s report.
Dave at Lighthouse View Bait and Tackle said the flounder and spot action made last week the best of the season. Flounder were caught on jigheads with Gulp! or flounder rigs with minnows and squid. The spot liked bloodworms.
In the upper Bay the Bull Pen produced a 28-inch rockfish for Darick Findley on cut bunker according to George at Eastern Marine. Patty at Captain Bones told us about the 8.58-pound catfish caught on peeler crab at Green’s Beach.
Smith Bait said flounder were caught at the Cross Ledge on minnows and squid. White perch and short rockfish were caught on bloodworms in all the tidal rivers and creeks.
Small craft advisories will be up for Monday and Tuesday as a northeast wind to 30 knots will push seas to seven feet.
