WGMD Fishing Report 5-26-18
Friday got the holiday weekend off to a good start.聽 The wind was out of the south and the warm weather encouraged folks to wet a line.
The only report from Lewes Harbour Marina was the Katydid came in with some sea bass.
At the fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park the report was big blues on high tide early in the morning.聽 Poppers, spoons and cut bunker accounted for most of these fish.
At Hook 鈥榚m and Cook 鈥榚m Lauren told us the first bluefin tuna of the year came in on the Knock on Wood with Dave Wood listed as the angler on the 50 pounder.聽 The Miss Aligned came back from the deep with a limit of golden tilefish.
The report from Old Inlet Bait and Tackle was black drum on clams from Conquest Road.聽 The entire beach from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick Island is a slow pick of drum, kings and bluefish.聽 Working the early morning tides with black or purple plugs may produce a few rockfish around the Indian River Inlet.聽 The weather for Saturday looks fishable so get out a join the crowds.
