WGMD Fishing Report 5-25-19
Friday saw a hard northwest wind and in my limited experience, that is a wind that blows no one any good.
I headed to the northside of Indian River Inlet to catch the incoming current and when I arrived around 8:30 AM the current was sort of deciding what it wanted to do.聽 It took at least another hour before it stared running in and then the rips were closer to the southside making them hard to reach from where I was fishing.聽 Finally managed to catch a three-pound blue.聽 Then the lady next to me informed me my hook was missing from my lure.聽 How or when it went missing, I do not know.聽 Put on a new lure, but still didn鈥檛 catch anymore fish.聽 Left at 11:30 AM with dinner in the cooler.
At Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park they said a few 25 to 32-inch rockfish were caught on mullet around 2:00 PM right at high tide.
Dan鈥檚 Tackle told us bluefish were caught out of the Broadkill River on cut bait.
