WGMD Fishing Report 5-23-21
Saturday saw the air temperature rise as the wind went southwest and there is a subtropical depression off of our coast that has small craft warnings up for Sunday and possibly Monday for seas.
Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said Dave Lawrence fished aboard the Angler on Saturday and caught a 2.98-pound trout. I would have figured that there were no more flounder left in the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal after the tournament on Friday, but Jack Donahue caught a nice 3.91 pounder on Saturday. John Gerrish had a 2.2 pounder as well.
At Lighthouse View Tackle at the fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park the report was a few flounder caught on Gulp!
Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said Henry Busby caught and released a 37-inch rockfish at Fenwick Island while fishing in the Cast for a Cure Surf Fishing Tournament. They also reported that the shad are still hitting shad darts, Speck Rigs and small spoons at Indian River Inlet. A few more kings have been caught from the beach on bloodwo0rms or Fish Bites.
