WGMD Fishing Report 4-4-22
No one answered the phone at Lewes Harbour Marina which is a good indication that no one went fishing out of there on Monday. I would hope there is some activity on Tuesday when winds are supposed to be 10 out of the south and waves are supposed to be 2 feet or less. Water temperature at Lewes is 50.7 degrees.
Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said the only fish they heard about were small tog and rockfish caught out of Indian River Inlet. The tog are taking green crabs and shrimp while the rockfish are caught in the predawn hours on soft plastics. In spite of the fact that my dogwood tree is in full bloom, no shad have been caught out of the Inlet.
While we suffer through some poor fishing, a friend of mine ran a practice charter into Raritan Bay in New Jersey on Saturday. They caught 40 big stripers on metal lip and other plugs. All were released.
Another friend caught, tagged and released a big red drum off of Fisherman鈥檚 Island in Virginia.
