WGMD Fishing Report 4-28-21
Wednesday was another warm and sunny day. There was a brisk southwest wind that had seas in the ocean running to three to four feet. Thursday looks to have the same conditions, but Friday and Saturday will see waves to six or seven feet. Right now, Sunday looks to be fishable.
Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said no charter or head boats ran from there on Wednesday, but a private boat did manage to bring in eight tog from ocean structure.
At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle, they reported good hickory shad action on incoming water at Indian River Inlet. Shad darts and small spoons were the best baits. Small rockfish were mixed in with the shad. On customer reported catching a 22-inch bluefish at Fenwick Island on Wednesday. It was the only fish he caught all day on cut bait. They saw one keeper tog caught from the inlet on crab bait.
With striped bass around, some anglers will be soaking cut bait or bloodworms in hopes of hooking one. Make sure you are using non-offset circle hooks when fishing with any type of bait.
