WGMD Fishing Report 3-7-19
Wednesday was very cold and windy with small craft advisories up for the bay and ocean. However, two young men who have a burning desire to catch fish did just that. They hit a few local ponds and managed to land a few bass. They were fishing from shore and I suspect kept going back to their truck to avoid frostbite.
I also made an error yesterday when I said no one went fishing. Captain Monty Hawkins on the Morning Star out of Ocean City ran a tog tagging trip on Tuesday catching 40 fish to Ramon Montoya’s pool winning 27 incher. Anglers kept less than one fish per person, but most could have easily taken home a limit.
It looks like the marine weather is going to be suitable for tog fishing on Friday and Saturday. Check with the Lewestown Lady out of Fisherman’s Wharf, The Karen Sue out of Indian River Marina and the Morning Star out of Ocean City if you own boat is still wrapped up for the winter. White and yellow perch will be available in the local creeks and spillways.
