WGMD Fishing Report 3-20-19
Tuesday saw lots of sunshine with a slight breeze, but I didn’t receive fishing reports from any boats out of Delaware or Ocean City. Perhaps I will get a late report on Wednesday.
I stopped in at Rick’s Bait and Tackle to pick up some leader material and found out they will be open every day except Easter Sunday from now until Christmas. The shop is well stocked for the spring so drop by and pick up some new gear. The only report they had was scattered catches of white perch from local tidal creeks and rivers.
Received some great photos of red and black drum caught from Cape Point at Hatteras Island on Monday night. The crowds have not arrived yet so the Point is not six trucks deep.
My son Ric has been scouting out the sand bar off of Fisherman’s Island at the base of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. He says it is about a half mile long and should be great for red drum come spring. He gets there by kayak, but it should be accessible by a small boat.
