WGMD Fishing Report 3-12-19

Monday was a very nice day for early March, but I could not find anyone who had been fishing.  I did, however, accomplish a personal goal.  My 1996 40hp two-stroke Mercury outboard started with very little trouble.  I had decided to get an early start in case it had to go to the outboard doctor, but at least for now, we are good to go.

The Lewestown Lady will run a 12-hour tog trip on Wednesday.  The cost will be $160 per person and you will have to call for reservations.

The Mid-Atlantic Council has taken final action on the summer flounder regulations for commercial fishermen.  The 9.55 million pound quota will remain through 2019 and may change in 2020 or 2021.  This should be good news for recreational fishermen as we should also remain status quo in 2019.

Bluefish quotas will also remain basically the same.  The commercial sector will receive 4 million pounds of unused recreational quota in 2019 up from the 3.5 million they received in 2018.
