WGMD Fishing Report 3-11-18
Saturday was a good day for lots of things, but fishing wasn’t one of them. Actually, the fishing part wasn’t too bad, but the catching remains difficult.
I took a little ride to check out some local hot spots and while I did find a few folks trying, I didn’t see any fish caught. There were three anglers fishing from the handicap pier on the northside of Indian River Inlet and they were huddled together to keep warm. Never saw them catch anything.
Butch at Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said he is selling a few bloodworms to perch fishermen, but very few to anyone fishing in salt water.
For those of you who have lost small cars or children to the potholes in the parking lot at Old Inlet, rejoice. The lot has been smoothed out and is in pretty good shape.
It will be a couple of weeks before the Judy V is back in the water. She is getting a bit of a face lift before the fishing heats up. Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em is open for business.
Only a few folks trying for trout at Newton Pond.
This is Eric Burnley with you WGMD fishing report.
