WGMD Fishing Report 12-5-19

The weather cleared up on Wednesday, but will be windy again on Thursday.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid went out on a tog trip and returned with 20 keepers.  As has been the case all fall, they caught numerous shorts, but were only able to cull out the 20 keepers.

I then called Captain Cary Evans on the Grizzly who also went tog fishing.  He came back with ten keepers after returning 30 shorts.

Captain Monty on the Morning Star out of Ocean City ran for sea bass and had a great day.  The first person to limit out did so in an hour.  All but three of his customers caught their 15-fish sea bass limit to the five-pound pool winner.

Rockfish to 40 pounds are once again being caught out of Cape Charles, Virginia.  As in past years, they take live eels fished under bobbers along the channel edge.  The action is far from a blitz, but one 40-pound rockfish a day would certainly be enough for me.  Thankfully, most have been released.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
