WGMD Fishing Report 11-15-19
Thursday saw fishable weather and Friday looks good as well. The weekend and the first of next week will be horrible.
Tommy told us the Katydid with Captain Brent and the Surface Tension with Captain Keith had boat limits of black sea bass. The Grizzly went tog fishing and Captain Cary was able to put Barry Zimmerman on an 8.22-pound tog that was good for second place in the Lewes Harbour Marina tog tournament.
At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle we learned that a fair run of keeper rockfish occurred at the Inlet on Thursday morning between 9:00 and 10:00 AM. Bucktails, I suspect they were white with a white plastic worm, were the hot bait. Tog continued to feed on sand fleas and green crabs with a few of the fish even big enough to keep.
On Wednesday, November 20, the Advisory Council on Tidewater Fisheries will meet at 6:00 PM in the DNREC Auditorium in Dover. The conservation equivalency proposals for striped bass will be presented at that time. A public hearing on those proposals will be held at a later date.
