WGMD Fishing Report 10-13-19

Small craft advisories were up for the ocean, but at least one boat fished Delaware Bay.  Seas remain high for Sunday and Monday, but I believe some of the larger head and charter boats will fish with Monday being a holiday for a few lucky folks.

The Grizzly with Captain Cary Evans fished the bay and returned with six black drum, a limit of trout plus several blues and blowfish.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle the report was a few tog out of the Inlet and nothing from the beach.  The beach north of the inlet is closed, but Three Rs is open.

Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park has closed for the season.  The pier remains open.

As expected, the water temperature in the bay and the ocean has dropped quite a bit.  On Saturday evening the bay water measured 64.6 degrees and the ocean was at 67.6.  This will be a bit too chilly for some of the summer species like pompano that we have been catching, but could bring blues and albacore closer to shore.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
