WGMD Fishing 10/22/21

<hr>

Tuesday was not a good day to go fishing. There were gale warnings up and they will remain up through up into Wednesday. Winds will be north at 20 to 25 knots with gusts to 35 and seas running six to eight feet. On Thursday the wind with blow at ten to fifteen out of the northeast and seas will run five to eight feet. This delightful weather pattern will continue right through Saturday.

As of 3:00 PM on Tuesday the wave height at the Delaware Lightship Buoy was seven feet and the water temperature was 67 degrees. I suspect the water temperature will drop even further before we get back out on the ocean again.

I did get a surf report from Dan Neumann. He and several friends fished the Cape Henlopen Park area over the past weekend and while they did manage to catch a small black drum and some eight to twelve-inch blues, he said most of the time they were reeling in skates and spiny dogfish. They used mullet, spot and bloodworms.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
