Western Sussex Will hold School Board Elections in May
Friday was the filing deadline for Delaware School Board elections. Districts on the western side of Sussex County have contested races for At-Large seats.
In the Delmar School District – Dawn Litchford and Lauren Hudson are running for the seat being vacated by Thomas Elliott.
In the Laurel School District – Joe Kelley is challenging incumbent Linda Hitchens.
In the Seaford School District – Troy Purnell is not running for re-election. George Del Farno and Marcus Wright have filed for the at large seat.
In the Woodbridge School District – Corey Grammer and Rita Hovermale are running for the at large seat being vacated by Paul Breeding.
** In the Milford School District – Rony Baltazar-Lopez is not running for re-election – Jalyn Powell, Matthew Bucher and Samuel Millman are running for that at-large seat. In District D ā incumbent Scott Fitzgerald is unopposed. Samuel Millman has withdrawn from the race (3/28/22)
Cape Henlopen had one seat up for election – in District D – incumbent Julia Alexander Derrick is unopposed.
Indian River School District had 2 District 1 seats up for re-election. Both incumbents – Jim Fritz and Madeline Moses were the only candidates to file.
School board elections will take place on Tuesday, May 10.
