Western Maryland Man Sentenced to 20 Years For Ocean City Assault
The Worcester County State’s Attorney says 40-year-old Max Arthur Schindler has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for a 2018 assault in Ocean City.
Schindler, of Maugansville in Washington County, Maryland was observed assaulting a female in the area of 12th Street and Philadelphia Avenue on June 3, 2018. Witnesses say he tackled a woman to the ground, struck her face and choked her with both hands. The victim broke free and ran across the street, when Schindler chased her, using a flagpole to stab her and beat her. Officers say the victim suffered brushing, abrasions and bleeding.
Judge Beau Oglesby of the Worcester County Circuit Court sentenced Schindler to 20 years in prison on the charges he was previously convicted of: assault in the first degree and assault in the second degree.
