UPDATE: Police Identify Victim Killed in Lewes Crash
Delaware State Police have released the identity of the man fatally struck during a crash in Lewes on Tuesday. The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Arturo Roblero-Velasquez of Georgetown.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. in the area of Hazlett Road and the Governors development, when officials say the driver of a Freightliner concrete pump truck failed to notice the victim, working on a construction job near a man hole cover. He proceeded to back up, striking the victim’s legs with the right rear wheels. He was pronounced dead a short time later. His identity was not immediately released to allow for notification of next of kin.
Delaware State Police say the accident remains under investigation by DSP’s Collision Reconstruction Unit.
