Update on Work Being Done in Aftermath of Key Bridge Collapse
Officials in Maryland once again held a news conference to update the public on the progress of the work being done following last month’s Francis Scott Key bridge collapse. The number one priority is reopening the deep draft channel. U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral Shannon Gilreath representing Unified Command talked about the significant progress that has been made along those lines…
He says the reason they are removing containers from the bow of the vessel is for better access to that part of the ship so that they can safely remove the pieces of the bridge on the top of the bow. He adds that it’s essential to refloat the vessel and remove it. Those operations are ongoing.聽
Meanwhile Governor Moore says they are on track for those goals that have been set.
