Unemployment Increased Slightly in October

Unemployment increased a tenth of a percent in October both in Delaware and nationally. However in Sussex County – unemployment increased from 3.8’% in September to 4% in October. Statewide unemployment in Delaware is at 4.2% for October – with the national unemployment rate at 3.9%, Over the past year, the biggest over-the-year job changes were in the Leisure and Hospitality sector, as well as Government, Private Education & Health and Professional and Business Services.
