Two Injured in Crash at CBBT

Two people were taken to hospitals in Virginia Beach with non-life threatening injuries after a three vehicle head-on crash in the Chesapeake Tunnel on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel Monday morning around 11:20. CBBT officials say an SUV was southbound and struck the western wall of the tunnel twice before veering into the northbound lane striking a minivan head-on and impacting the eastern wall of the tunnel. A northbound car struck the rear of the other two vehicles. Several other people were treated for minor injuries at the scene. Officials say the scene was cleared around 12:45 and the CBBT re-opened to traffic in both directions.
