UPDATED: Two Berlin Men Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

Two Berlin men have been arrested after an investigation into child pornography in Worcester County. Maryland State Police began an investigation into possession of child porn in March when a search warrant was served the residence of the suspects. A preliminary forensic review of the suspects’ electronic devices revealed multiple child pornography files.

On Monday, December 19, police arrested 60 year old Charles Zukas and 25 year old Jodie Orr. Zukas is charged with 20 counts of possession of child porn – Orr is charged with 33 counts.

Both men surrendered themselves to the MSP Berlin Barrack and are being held pending an initial appearance in front of a District Court Commissioner.

UPDATED – 12/19/22 – 7pm – STATEMENT FROM OCPD:

The Ocean City Police Department has been informed that former officer Charles Zukas, 60, has been arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography. The Maryland State Police is handling this investigation. The Ocean City Police Department takes this matter seriously and will assist Maryland State Police as needed.

Zukas was employed by the Ocean City Police Department as a police officer from September 1994 until he retired in June of 2014. Zukas went on to be a Reserve Police Officer with the Ocean City Police Department after his retirement until March of 2022.
