Two Arrested on Drug and Weapons Offenses
A traffic stop by Delaware State Police led to the arrest of two people just before 2 Saturday morning. Police were called to the Coverdale Road area for shots being fired – and a trooper in the area saw a vehicle leaving that area. After the trooper pulled the vehicle over, they spotted marijuana in plain sight. The driver, 29 year old Monte Murray of Seaford and passenger – 22 year old Tashyra Scott of Hartly were arrested. A search of the vehicle turned up over 2 grams of marijuana, 5 Ecstasy tablets, a 9mm handgun, ammunition, drug paraphernalia and over $200 in cash. Both are charged with a variety of weapons and drug offenses and are free on unsecured bond. An investigation into the shots fired turned up no shell casings or property damage.
