Two Arrested in Dover on Drug and Firearm Charges Following Traffic Stop

Dover Police have arrested two men in their 20’s on drug and firearm charges following a traffic stop Monday evening. Police arrested 28-year-old Dominique Melton of Wilmington and 23-year-old John Wyatte of Dover. At 9:46 p.m., the Street Crimes Unit and Drugs, Vice and Organized Crime Unit were conducting a firearm investigation involving Melton. Officers conducted a stop on a vehicle in the area of ecstasy Apartments that Melton was driving, and Wyatte was the passenger. Police conducted a search of the vehicle and found a Polymer 80 9mm handgun, 13 grams of crack cocaine, 47 pills of ecstasy, .371 grams of heroin, 43.6 grams of marijuana and $336. Wyatte was committed to SCI on $17,200 secured bail, while Melton is at SCI on $54,200 cash bail.
