UPDATED: Bone Found in Water Near West OC’s Stinky Beach Belongs to an Animal
UPDATED – Thursday – The results are back from the Maryland Medical Examiner’s office on a bone that was found in a barrel in the water off Stinky Beach in West Ocean City on Tuesday. Sheriff’s officials today reported that the bone found is that of an animal. It is NOT a human bone. Worcester County Sheriff’s officials say a couple walking in the surf at Stinky Beach stumbled over the deteriorating wooden barrel on Tuesday morning – they found parts of a woman’s shoe, pottery and what looked like a bone. Divers removed the remaining contents on Wednesday – finding only sand, clams and mussels, however shoulder bone of a deer was found near the barrel.
