Trooper Involved in Wicomico County Crash
Maryland State Police say they are investigating a motor vehicle crash that took place in Hebron on Thursday afternoon.
Troopers say around 5:14 p.m. they responded to eastbound Route 50 at Main Street in Hebron. The investigation uncovered a Nissan Rogue from Delaware operated by 64-year-old Berneldia Gattis-White failed to yield the right of way and pulled into the path of a marked Maryland State Police vehicle traveling eastbound on Route 50. Despite the Trooper’s attempt at avoiding crash, the two vehicles struck. Officials say they Trooper’s vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a pole.
The Two Maryland State Troopers in the vehicle were transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for treatment and released. The driver of the Nissan was treated at PRMC and released. She was charged with failure to yield right of way.
