Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest in Bridgeville

Delaware State Police say they have arrested and charged 25-year-old Malik T. Jarvis of Rehoboth Beach following a Tuesday evening traffic stop in Bridgeville.

Members of the Governor’s Task Force were patrolling in the Coverdale area just before 10 p.m. A silver Hyundai Sonata was traveling southbound on Coverdale Road in the area of Mill Park Drive. A traffic stop was initiated and Troopers detected marijuana inside the vehicle.

A search uncovered a plastic container with approximately 443.10 grams of marijuana and over 900 dollars of suspected drug proceeds.

Jarvis was taken into custody and transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 quantity, 2 counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fictitious or Cancelled Registration Card, Operation of an Unregistered Card, Operation of an Unregistered Motor Vehicle and Loud Music or Noise which is plainly audible from a distance of 50 feet or more from Vehicle.

Jarvis was arraigned and released on 7,604 dollars unsecured bond.
