UPDATED: Coastal Highway Crash at Cave Neck Road Sends 4 to Hospitals

UPDATED – 5/26/23 12pm – Four people were injured in a crash Thursday night just after 7:30 at the intersection of Route 1 and Cave Neck Road south of Milton. Delaware State Police continue to investigate, but tell the Talk of Delmarva that a Honda Pilot was in the northbound left turn lane on Route 1 and began making a left turn colliding with a Hyundai Tucson that was southbound on Route 1. The driver of the Pilot, a 63 year old Milton man and a 63 year old female passenger – also from Milton – were flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Tucson, a 21 year old female from Street, Maryland and her 22 year old female passenger from Joppa, Maryland were taken by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The roadway was closed for about 3 hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.

Four people have been injured, two or three suffered life-threatening injuries, after a traffic collision with entrapment on Coastal Highway north of Lewes. It was reported around 7:45 p.m. near Cave Neck Road. That is where rescuers found one of the vehicles on a field with a person trapped.
