Town of Ocean City to Conduct Fall Hydrant Flushing of Water System
The Town of Ocean City鈥檚 Public Works Department will begin conducting the fall hydrant flushing of the water system beginning this Sunday, October 22nd. The hydrant flushing, which is done bi-annually, will progress from south to north, beginning on South 1st Street and covering several blocks per day. Currently, public works personnel are scheduled to perform the hydrant flushing throughout the late evening hours and into the early morning hours; however, circumstances may require those times to change. Due to the flushing, you may see a slight discoloration of the water. This is not harmful and will dissipate after a short time. If you wish to clear your pipes, run cold water for several minutes until the water runs clear. The project is expected to be completed by Thursday afternoon October 26th.聽
