Three arrested, charged with burglaries in Milford, Frederica

Three suspects, ages 29, 15, and 14 years old, were arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in the Milford, Frederica areas of Kent County, Delaware.

According to the Delaware State Police Department, around 10:30 p.m., Monday troopers were called to a home in the 700 block of New Wharf Road in Milford, for a report of a burglary.

Troopers arrived and determined that the suspects had forced their way inside the home and a detached garage, according to police. They stole numerous items including three firearms prior to fleeing the scene.

Later that same hour, troopers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Bowers Beach Road in Frederica after receiving reports of a suspicious person in the area.

Police arrived and discovered that the suspects tried to force their way inside a residence by throwing a cinder block at a door.

Troopers arrived and located three suspects nearby, parked in a cornfield. Contact was made with 29-year-old Marvin J. Poore, 15-year-old Lawerence Custis and 14-year-old Porscha Estabrook, all of Frederica.

Troopers found property inside the vehicle that was reported stolen from the New Wharf Road burglary incident. The three stolen firearms were recovered.

The three suspects were taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 3.

It was learned that Poore was also involved in another burglary incident that occurred on September 3, 2019, at a home under construction in the 100 block of Willow Drive in Frederica.

Poore was charged with Possession of a Firearm By Person Prohibited (3 counts), Burglary Second Degree, Attempted to Commit Burglary Second Degree, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, Burglary Third Degree (2 counts), Theft of a Firearm (3 counts), Theft (Felony), Theft, Conspiracy Second Degree (2 counts), and Criminal Mischief (2 counts). He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $54,250 secured bond.

Custis was charged with Burglary Second Degree, Attempted to Commit Burglary Second Degree, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, Burglary Third Degree, Theft of a Firearm (3 counts), Theft (Felony), Conspiracy Second Degree, and Criminal Mischief (2 counts). He was released on his own recognizance.

Estabrook was charged with Burglary Second Degree, Attempted to Commit Burglary Second Degree, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, Burglary Third Degree, Theft of a Firearm (3 counts), Theft (Felony), Conspiracy Second Degree, Criminal Mischief (2 counts), and Tampering With Physical Evidence-Evidence Suppression. She was released on her own recognizance.
