Thousands of Polar Bears Plunge for Special Olympics Delaware
February 4, 2018
It was chilly afternoon at the beach in Rehoboth yesterday for the over 3200 Polar Bears who helped to raise over $875,000 for Special Olympics Delaware. The air temperature was a mild 47 degrees – but the Atlantic was a bit colder at 37 degrees for this year’s plungers. Over the plunge’s 27 year history, nearly $11-million has been raised for training and competition for the over 4200 Delawareans of all ages who have intellectual disabilities.
