Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 9-15-23
The hurricane has made for some lousy weather along our coast and small craft advisories were up on Friday and are already up for Saturday. There is also a special warning for strong rip currents along the Delaware ocean coast. Please take this seriously. We have already lost one young man in the surf at Rehoboth Beach. If you plan to do any surf fishing, stay out of the water. If you have friends visiting from out of town who may not be familiar with the ocean currents, please warn them about rip currents.
As you can guess, no boats ventured out from Lewes or Indian River on Friday.
Breakwater Tackle on the Fishing Pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said a 22-inch flounder was caught from the pier on Friday. The usual spot and croaker were caught on bloodworms or Fishbites and the spot were good size. Some sheepshead were also taken from the pier. Sounds like the pier is the place to fish.
