Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 6-25-23
Sunday was the first day this year that felt like summer.
Steve at Smith Bait in Leipsic told us trout and flounder have been caught in Delaware Bay out of Bowers Beach. Some are caught from shore at the beach, but most are taken from boats sailing from the inlet. Peeler crab has been the best bait, but according to Steve crabbing has been very poor.
Dan at Dan鈥檚 Tackle in Milton said quite a variety of fish have been caught at Broadkill Beach. Croaker, spot, trout, blues and kings have all been taken on bloodworms, cut bait and Fishbites. Most of these fish are small, but enough keepers are caught to make a meal.
Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid came in from ocean structure with a limit of flounder plus some sea bass. The Sea Vee II had a mixture of flounder and sea bass for her party. The Sea Dozer was on her way in with a catch of tuna.
At Hook 鈥檈m and Cook 鈥榚m Burt said the Judy V had flounder and sea bass.
