Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 5-16-23
What a difference a day makes. Lots of fish on Monday and only a few on Tuesday.
Deanna at Hook 鈥榚m and Cook 鈥榚m said on Monday they had boats bringing in 60 to 100 pounds of black sea bass. On Tuesday they saw one 5-pound bluefish from Indian River Inlet. Mike Damiano and four friends went out on the Judy V for opening day of sea bass season. They used shiners and squid and ended up with 15 keepers.
Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said on Monday evening there was a run of 30-inch blues at 3Rs Road. Cut bunker was the best bait. I suspect a Hopkins lure or a surface plug might have also been successful.
Lewes Harbour Marina reported that Archer, Emily and Seth Morgan with David Fritch III fished around the Outer Wall on Sunday catching and releasing lots of tog and keeping nine to Seth鈥檚 9 pounder.
