Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 11/19/23
Small craft advisories were up again on Sunday causing a blow out for the weekend. The remainder of the week is not looking too spiffy for fishing, duck hunting maybe, but fishing, not so much.
I did get a couple of reports from earlier in the month. Lewes Harbour Marina reported that Wesley Morrison caught and released a 47-inch striped bass in the northern part of the Delaware Bay on a live spot.
Richard Seagraves fished the Outer Wall for two hours and caught quite a few throwback tog along with two keepers.
This is the first time since Super Storm Sandy that we have had good reports of big striped bass in Delaware Bay. It is possible that we could see a return of fishing at the mouth of the bay where trolling with Stretch 25s and 30s or drifting with live eels once produced stripers of bragging size. Only time will tell.
