Wednesday was the first really nice day for fishing on the ocean. The wind was not blowing a gale and the seas were less than 6 feet. Thursday looks good, but the weekend, not so much.

Lewes Harbour Marina reported that the Katydid had flounder from ocean structure. A private boat had sheepshead from the Outer Wall and another private boat had tog from the same place.

Breakwater Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said it was a slow day. A few flounder and black drum were caught in the morning and a few croaker and spot were taken in the afternoon.

At Old Inlet the report was sheepshead and tog out of the Inlet rocks on sand fleas and green crabs. A few black drum were mixed in the catch.

Hook 鈥榚m and Cook 鈥榚m said the Fish Whistle returned from offshore with an 81-pound wahoo caught by a 17-year-old gentleman, 4 yellowfin tuna and a bigeye.
