Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 10/05/24
Friday was another day when no boats fished the ocean, or if they did, I didn鈥檛 hear about it.
Lewes Harbour Marina said the only fish they heard of being caught were sheepshead and small tog taken by private boats that fished the Outer Wall and the Ice Breakers. The baits that were used included green crabs and sand fleas.
Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said a few small blues were caught from the Indian River Inlet and from the beach on bucktails and cut bait. They had hopes for larger blues on the afternoon tide. A few more keeper tog were caught from the Inlet on green crabs and sand fleas along with some decent sheepshead. The night bite for stripers had dwindled down of late with just a few linesiders caught on drifted sand fleas and purple Mirr-O-Lures. The rough surf has made beach fishing difficult.
