Summer came back with a vengeance on Wednesday.

DNREC announced on Wednesday the grand opening of the new boat ramp at Records Pond in Laurel. The new ramp has deeper water access and the parking lot will hold eight boat trailer spots and 10 car parking spots. The parking lot on the other side of Willow Street will now hold 10 trailer parking spaces and four car spots. The fishing pier with access to the spillway is now open as well. The fishing pier on Records Pond has been refurbished and is also open.

Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid ran a four-hour trip and caught four keeper flounder. A private boat fished the Outer Wall and caught triggerfish.

Breakwater Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park reported steady fishing for croaker and short flounder.

Old Inlet said blues came through on incoming water and hit white bucktails.
