UPDATED: Sussex & Wicomico Firefighters Battle Early Morning 2-Alarm Delmar, MD Blaze

UPDATED – 3pm – Delmar firefighters were called for a structure fire around 3:30 this morning on Bi-State Boulevard south of Delmar. Crews arriving at the scene found flames through the roof of a single story commercial building. A passerby spotted the fire which began in the rear interior of the building.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation and damage is estimated at $300,000. State Fire Marshal investigators say there was no smoke alarm or sprinkler system present. Companies from across Wicomico and Sussex Counties battled the 2-alarm fire for about 2 and a half hours.
